Believe It! Bandai Announces New Naruto Trading Card Game with Early Access for France
Bandai officially unveils the Naruto Trading Card Game! Discover gameplay mechanics, card types, and how to get early access at Paris Games Week 2026.

A New Era for Shinobi Collectibles
Following the explosive global success of the One Piece Card Game, Bandai is doubling down on its manga-inspired gaming strategy. The publishing giant has officially unveiled the Naruto Card Game, a comprehensive trading card game (TCG) based on the legendary work of Masashi Kishimoto. First teased during Gen Con 2026, this new venture aims to capture the magic of the Hidden Leaf Village and bring the strategic depth of ninja combat to tabletop gaming.
The game is currently slated for a full commercial release in the summer of 2027, but the hype is already building as fans get their first glimpse of the card designs and gameplay mechanics.
Deep Dive into Gameplay Mechanics
Drawing inspiration from the structure of its 'big brother,' the One Piece TCG, the Naruto Card Game revolves around a central Leader system. Players are tasked with building a strategic deck consisting of 51 main cards, complemented by 5 Chakra cards and a single Invocation card. The ultimate objective is straightforward but challenging: reduce the opponent's Leader health points to zero using a combination of tactical maneuvers and powerful jutsu.
The Five Pillars of the Deck
To master the game, players must balance five distinct categories of cards:
- Leader: The heart of the deck. The Leader's color determines the available strategies and card pool. When the Leader falls, the game ends.
- Character: These are the frontline fighters. They handle the primary attacks and can unleash devastating Ninjutsu, provided the player can pay the required Chakra cost.
- Character EX: High-impact, decisive units that can only be summoned after specific game conditions are met, often swinging the momentum of the match.
- Chakra: The essential resource. Chakra is spent to activate special abilities, support effects, and powerful jutsu.
- Invocation: The critical gateway cards required to bring Character cards from the deck into the heat of battle.
Visual Style and Character Roster
Bandai has emphasized a high-fidelity visual approach for the Naruto Card Game. The art style will be a hybrid, blending breathtaking original illustrations created specifically for the TCG with iconic imagery pulled directly from the original manga and anime series.
Initial reveals have showcased a powerhouse roster including Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, Jiraiya, and Itachi Uchiha. Interestingly, the game will span multiple eras of the franchise, featuring characters and forms from the original Naruto series all the way through to the Boruto era, ensuring that both nostalgic fans and new viewers have their favorite versions of these characters represented.
Global Tour and Exclusive French Early Access
Bandai isn't making fans wait until 2027 to feel the cards in their hands. A massive global demonstration tour is planned to allow players to test-drive the mechanics via playable demos. In a move that will thrill European fans, France has been granted a major spotlight in this rollout.
The Paris Games Week, taking place from October 22 to 25, 2026, will serve as a primary hub for French fans to experience the game. This early inclusion suggests that, unlike the One Piece TCG which saw a delay in localization, the Naruto Card Game may launch with a simultaneous French translation.
