Israeli Drone Strike on Gaza Police Station Kills Eight in Jabalia
At least eight people, including the director of a police station, were killed in an Israeli drone strike in Gaza's Jabalia camp. Read more on the latest casualties.

A devastating Israeli drone strike has targeted a police station located in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, resulting in the deaths of at least eight individuals. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday afternoon in the al-Faluja neighborhood, has been condemned by local authorities as a violent escalation against public order personnel.
Details of the Attack
According to reports from Al Jazeera correspondents on the ground, the strike hit a facility dedicated to maintaining law and order within a densely populated area that serves as a bustling local marketplace for displaced Palestinians. The casualties include at least six police officers, among them the station's director, as well as at least one civilian. Palestinian Civil Defence teams reported that the bodies were transported to al-Shifa Hospital for identification and processing. Gaza’s Interior Ministry has formally denounced the strike, describing it as a 'horrific massacre' of members of the civil police force.
Widespread Violence Across the Enclave
The tragedy at the police station was not an isolated incident. Throughout Tuesday, multiple areas of the Gaza Strip faced intensified Israeli bombardment. In the southern region of Khan Younis, an air strike resulted in the death of one man and left three others wounded, including a woman and a child. Additionally, reports from the Palestinian Wafa news agency indicated that a 10-year-old child was killed by heavy machine-gun fire in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis. Tragically, the child succumbed to his injuries before medical personnel could transport him to Nasser Hospital.
The Growing Human Toll
This surge in violence marks a continuation of the lethal intensity observed in the region, despite the existence of a tenuous ceasefire agreement signed last October. According to updated figures provided by the Gaza Health Ministry, the total death toll since the escalation on October 7, 2023, has reached 73,233, with more than 173,700 people sustaining injuries. The ministry further highlighted that over 1,100 people have lost their lives since the inception of the October truce, underscoring the precarious nature of the ongoing conflict and the severe humanitarian crisis affecting the civilian population.
